A three season athlete, Charlotte played field hockey, basketball, and softball from 7th through 12th grade ultimately focusing on her field hockey career as a Goalkeeper year round. She trained on the North Carolina Tar Devils club team and at weekend and summer Olympic Development programs where she was recruited by D1 programs and committed to the Yale Bulldogs. Her first day of preseason on the Yale Field Hockey team started with a 1RM Hang Squat Clean – she has been addicted to Olympic Weightlifting ever since.
Charlotte was first introduced to CrossFit when a Rugby coach brought barbells and plates to the pitch. The workout was “Nancy” (5 rounds of 400 meter run and 15 OHS), and it was meant to be a warm up. The barbell was empty, but the workout was shockingly hard and humbling.
In 2011 she attended her first free intro to CrossFit class at CrossFit NYC and was immediately chugging the Kool-Aid. After a few years of training, she earned her Level 1 in January 2014 and completed the Apprentice Coaching program with Bowery CrossFit in NYC.
After 5 years of hustle in the big city, Charlotte has settled back in NC and landed a position with Counter Culture Coffee’s HQ in Durham. As a Coach at CFD she hopes to give athletes one hour a day they can be proud of, no matter what else is happening in their lives.
