Kristine grew up in Florida and received her Master of Science in Public Health degree (epidemiology) from the University of South Florida. A former nationally ranked distance swimmer, she was relatively sedentary until she found CrossFit Durham’s bootcamp classes in 2012 and fell in love with the supportive atmosphere and camaraderie of CFD. She discovered the sport of Powerlifting and has not looked back since.
Kristine is currently the US Powerlifting Association’s National Champion for her age and weight class in the single-ply division, and holds World Records in the Squat and Bench Press, as well as American Records in the Deadlift and Total. She enjoys coaching strength athletes at all levels, and particularly loves coaching women. The building of confidence, self-esteem, and appreciation of the body’s capabilities are results Kristine has seen in herself as she has pursued her sport, and she finds joy in seeing those characteristics develop in others. Kristine has learned a great deal about nutrition and the way that food can fuel the body for both health and performance, and is particularly interested in the impact of the mind on sports performance.
